Ecological issues.
The Pot and Grass Company is committed to apolicy that promotes and encourages ecologically sound and environmentallyfriendly practices that remain within the bounds of sensibility andpracticality. The P&G; takes environmental issues very seriously and whereever possible the company endeavours to reach and maintain the highestlevels and standards. The P&G; recognise that due to commercial reasons someof its practices can not achieve one hundred percent (There would forinstance be little point in trying to write plant labels with a lead free pencil on recycledpaper, they would not last two minutes, so yes we do use plastic.) However westrive to consistently achieve the high nineties. The P&G; is committed to recycling and wherepossible to using recycled materials in its packaging. Be assured your order will arrive in good condition and properly packaged. With the exception of the delivery note enclosure and the parcel tape, the packaging and void fill should be atleast 99% recycled, reusable and compostable. Dont be surprised if yourplants arrive in a Vintners claret box with straw filler. (Handy if you have a hamster.
Fertilizers and Compost
The P&G; uses products from sustainable and renewable resources.Grasses and bamboos are by nature some of the most efficient and environmentally friendlyplants around, and therefore there is very little if ever any needto use artificial fertilisers.Fortunately for us there are good supplies of good quality farm yardand organic alternatives available locally.
Chemicals and Sprays
The P&G; specialise in Bamboos and grasses which are in the most partresistant and free from pests and diseases. Most of the problems that are likely to beexperienced can usually be dealt with by good plant management. The P&G;does not usuallyendorse the use of any sprays, and in particular chemical spays or insecticides,However in extreme cases where it is in the best interests to the plants welfare or a question of the survival of a particular plant we may make an exception. (

If it comes to our attention that there is an abuse ofthose policies by one of our suppliers we would take the matter very seriously. If the claim of an abuse is substantiated we would cease trading with thatsupplier immediately, make the matter very public a report it to the relevant authority
